The Robert Smith Physical Education program offers the opportunity for both upper-primary and all intermediate students to participate on a number of inter-school divisional sports teams.
These teams are designed to attend divisional tournaments throughout the school year and offer an extension to the regular Phys. Ed program. Students on these teams will take part in a more competitive style tournament environment. Students will focus on specific offensive and defensive concepts and strategies to be used on the court. The major goal of these teams however, remains to involve as many students as possible and to instill a positive healthy attitude toward sport through active participation and exposure. All tournaments attended are based around fun and friendly competition and fair play of all student athletes on the school team.
Parents/Guardians, grandparents and extended family members are always encouraged to come out and cheer on our school teams! Please be reminded, spectators are asked to be respectful towards all teams in attendance, referees, coaches, as well as, all student athletes who are in the process of learning.
students on divisional sports teams must have a signed parental consent form returned to the school. Students must also meet all team requirements set out by coaching staff to remain an eligible athlete attending tournaments.
